Wing Leong, aged 89, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

A Coloradan for over 50 years, Wing built a life rooted in family, friendship, faith, and an enduring curiosity about the world around him. He treasured the time he spent with those he loved and found great joy in the simple moments shared with family and friends.

Wing was a geologist and historian at heart. His natural curiosity led him to explore the stories and mysteries written into the earth through science and history, and that same curiosity extended to the many people, places, and ideas he encountered throughout his life. He worked as a geophysicist for several companies, processing data for the U.S. Military and organizations in the private oil and gas industry before retiring early.

His faith was a deeply meaningful part of his life. Wing was an active member of the Chinese church community and was part of Chinese churches in Denver, Dallas, and Houston. He loved scripture, hymns, and, most of all, the fellowship and friendships he found within the church. His faith gave him strength and comfort throughout his life.

Sports and athletics were also an important part of Wing’s life. He had a genuine love for the game, the competition, and the simple joy of being active. He enjoyed basketball, soccer, tennis, ping pong, bowling, and swimming—really, just about any sport he could play. His enthusiasm for athletics reflected his playful spirit and gave him countless opportunities to share laughter, friendship, and good times with others.

Wing had a gift for making people feel welcome. He was known for his quick smile and a twinkle in his eyes, gentle sense of humor, and easygoing nature. He formed many dear and lasting friendships throughout the different seasons of his life, and those friendships remained a source of joy and strength to him. To those who knew him, Wing's warmth and kindness made it easy to feel at home in his presence.

Above all, Wing was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue; their children, Katherine (Benjamin), Edward (Renee), Jennifer (Eric), and Cheryl (Matthew); and his grandchildren, Alyssa, Benjamin, Caitlyn, Samuel, Michael, and Evan.

Wing leaves behind a life filled with faith, love, friendship, curiosity, and countless memories shared with those fortunate enough to know him.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
