Wendy Otto Nagel, age 59, died on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, in Lone Tree, Colorado after a very hard fought battle of 6-years with Ovarian cancer.
Wendy was born November 30, 1961, in Onawa, Iowa to parents Fred Otto, Jr. and Barbara Farwell Strawbridge. She graduated from West Monona High School in 1980, where she was involved in music playing the piano, bass guitar, guitar and French Horn. Growing up she was a member of the Onawa Christian church and was involved in local 4H club. Heavily involved in all areas of the music program throughout her Jr. High and High school time at West Monona. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1984 with a degree in Music. Wendy and Jerry Nagel married in 1985, moved to Taiwan, to Colorado, Hawaii and back to Colorado where they planted roots. She was a member of Mission Hills church where she loved serving Jesus through serving people in multiple ministries throughout the years. Went on multiple mission trips across the globe including sharing the Jesus video with 2 former head hunting tribes on the island of Borneo. She loved music, traveling (traveled to 53 countries, 20 cruises and Hawaii 21 times), crafts, her cats and gardening. Was a Corporate Travel Agent for more than 25 years and played the French Horn in the Parker Symphony for more than 24 years.
Wendy is survived by her husband, Jerry Nagel, of Highlands Ranch, CO; her sisters Jill Otto Glasshoff (Duane) and Amy Otto; her stepmother Carol Otto; her stepsiblings Tammy Hane, Terry Rutkiewicz, Tracy Schroeder, and Troy Hane; Jerry’s mother, brothers, and sisters; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Otto, Jr., and Barbara Farwell Strawbridge.
A service is scheduled for 10:00am on Wednesday, July 21, at Mission Hills Church, 620 Southpark Dr., Littleton, CO, reception following.
