Virginia Duncan Schoelzel

Virginia “Ginny” Schoelzel was born March 25th 1934 in Columbus, Ohio to Father Robert and Mother Virginia. Ginny was a vibrant young woman with a love for art, culture, religion and history. At eighteen years old, Ginny met the love of her life Wesley Schoelzel, the pair married when she was twenty years old and lived happily together for sixty-eight years, until Wes’ passing in 2021. Together, they raised two beautiful children Doug and Anne, and doted upon their four grandchildren: Alex, Sophie, Seiva, and Emily.

Ginny’s love for those around her was exemplified through her love of Christ, a Catholic, she started and ended her day with the word of God. In her final years, Ginny was overwhelmed with Dementia-Alzheimers and yet she lived everyday as bright and full as possible. Virginia joined her husband in Heaven on February 9th, 2023. Her love, laugh, and bountiful soul lives on in her friends and family.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Monday, April 24th at 11:00am in the Dixon Chapel at Cherry Hills Community Church 3900 Grace Blvd, Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Reception immediately following the service.
