Obituary
Vincent Joseph Cissell; February 1, 1940-October 11, 2026
Vincent Joseph Cissell, beloved son of Raymond and Jeanette Cissell, will be remembered with deep love by his family and friends.
Vincent grew up on the family farm in “Pickle Town,” an agricultural community just east of Broadway on Grant Street. The family raised sheep, pigs, and goats, and bought and sold produce. An only child, Vincent cherished his close relationships with his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He attended St. Louis, Mullen, and Regis Catholic Schools before continuing his education at the University of Denver. While at DU, he drove a school bus for St. Mary’s—a job that left a lasting impression on many who remember him. His service in the Marine Corps Reserve, air control squadron, and his support of veterans was also very important to him.
Vincent shared more than 60 years with the love of his life, Shaaron. Together, they raised two children: Korri (Bob Lundock- husband) and Kevin (Susan Cissell- wife). He treasured time with his grandchildren—Katlynn, Shania, Christopher, Michael, and Courtney —and never missed a family birthday or holiday. He also delighted with his great-grandchildren, Octavia, Barron, and Madeline. One favorite family memory is Vincent reading The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve.
For more than 62 years, Vincent owned and operated Columbine Ambulance Company, working alongside Shaaron and Kevin. Over the years, they employed more than 600 medics. His dedication was extraordinary: he never missed a day of work or a night of dispatching.
Vincent was an active member of the Littleton Elks Lodge, recently receiving his 55-year pin, and enjoyed a lively circle of friends. Depending on the time of day, he might be found with his coffee group, the Sunday Do-Nothing Club, at the Elks Lodge, or at Ned Kelly’s Irish Pub.
Vincent believed that “a house was not a home without a dog,” and he loved his dogs dearly. His first poodle, CeeCee, a gray miniature poodle, loved riding on his motorcycle with him. His affection for standard poodles began with George, Maxx, Joe and JoJo.
Vincent’s life, devotion, and memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
