Ryan James Day passed away in his home in Tacoma, Washington on December 15, 2014. He was an active duty Army Ranger based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord as a Specialist in the 75th Ranger Regiment, 2nd Battalion. Ryan served two tours in Afghanistan and earned several commendations for his service. He was 21 years old.Ryan was born on July 21, 1993 in Princeton, NJ. He enjoyed life to the fullest throughout. He loved playing lacrosse, acting, listening to music, playing his guitar, and watching movies. Whether he was leading or supporting his family, friends, or Ranger brothers, he always lifted up everyone around him with his strength and commitment.We will remember his smile and laugh, which has been taken from us far too early. The hole in our heart will never be filled.Ryan is survived by his parents, Jim and Linda, and his brothers Justin and Evan. Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins all send their love and support in remembrance.Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 29th at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 3737 New Hope Way, Castle Rock, CO 80109.Also at New Hope Presbyterian, a Memorial Celebration of Ryan’s life will take place at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 30th followed by burial with full Military Graveside Honors at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver CO. at 12:15 PM – Gather at staging area “C”.In lieu of flowers, the family has established the Ryan James Day Memorial Fund. We have not yet identified a cause to benefit, as it is important for us to take the time and find something that is meaningful and relevant to Ryan’s life.
