Obituary

Nancy Whittier Miller, 74, passed away on July 23, 2026, due to complications encountered during a scheduled surgery. She was born on July 22, 1952, and grew up in Arcadia, California.

Nancy was first and foremost devoted to her family and her faith. She was the beloved wife of Tim Miller; a loving mother to their sons Scott, Christopher, and Matthew; and cherished mother-in-law to Meghan, Kacee, and Lindsay. She was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Whether cheering from the sidelines, celebrating birthdays, or simply spending time together, she treasured every moment with her family.

Nancy valued education and dedicated her career to helping children learn and grow. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Redlands and a Master of Arts in Education from California State University, Los Angeles. She spent many years as an elementary school and reading teacher, where she had a gift for encouraging students and helping them discover the joy of learning. She believed in encouraging others and had a special way of making people feel cared for. She was known for the thoughtful cards and notes she wrote, always taking the time to celebrate a milestone, offer encouragement, or let someone know they were being prayed for.

Her Christian faith guided the way she lived. She faithfully participated in Bible studies, valued the friendships she built there, and sought to live out her faith through quiet acts of kindness and service.

Nancy also loved to travel, especially throughout Europe. Germany always held a special place in her heart because it was where she met Tim and where they were married. She also cherished Paris, where they spent their honeymoon and returned together over the years, creating many treasured memories. Her travels reflected her curiosity, appreciation for history and culture, and the joy she found in sharing new experiences with family and friends.

Nancy was the oldest of three children and is also survived by her brother, Roger Whittier, her sister, Linda Foglesong, and six nieces and nephews.

Those who knew Nancy will remember her gentle spirit, her handwritten cards, her steadfast faith, and the genuine interest she took in the lives of others. Her example of love, generosity, and encouragement will continue to live on through her family and everyone whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held at Living Way Fellowship, 345 E. Wildcat Reserve Pkwy, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126, on Thursday August 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, family and friends are invited to join for a light lunch reception in the lobby to share memories, celebrate Nancy’s life, and spend time with one another.
