Matthew Robert Gehling

With profound sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Matthew Gehling, who left this world on March 8th, 2026 at the age of 30.

Matthew was born June 4, 1995, in Englewood Colorado, to Kim and Russ Gehling. From an early age, Matt brought laughter, kindness, and positivity to all of those around him. Known for his kind heart and personality, Matt made lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Matthew graduated in 2013 from Conifer High School. While in school he loved to play baseball, lift weights, and split firewood. Following school, Matt became a security guard where he was admired for his dedication and positivity.

Matthew got engaged to Sarah Holliefield on January 24, 2026 in Colorado, where they met and fell in love. They enjoyed traveling and cruising the world together. Matt was also a huge Colorado Rockies and Broncos fan. He enjoyed going to baseball games, collecting baseball cards and sports memorabilia. More than anything, Matt treasured time spent with family and friends.

Matthew is survived by his fiance Sarah Holliefield and their dog Nina, parents Kim and Russ Gehling, brothers Russ and Jeff Gehling, and aunts Carol, Margaret, Jenny, and Josie.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Matthew Gehling GoFundMe account. The funds raised will go towards purchasing and planting a Memorial Tree in Matthew’s memory through the Englewood Recreation Department.

Though gone too soon, Matthew’s love, laughter, and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
