Kristen “Kris” Nichols, age 61, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, November 25th, 2022. She was born March 31st, 1961 in Chico, CA to Richard and Genee Sorensen. Kris was a 1979 graduate of Columbine High School. Kristen worked alongside her father at Western Belle Enterprises and finished her career at Hixon Manufacturing and Supply.
Kristen loved singing karaoke, visiting Disney, making people laugh, and spending time with her family and friends. She never knew a stranger and was not afraid to follow through with a dare or a joke if it meant others would laugh. Her zest for life and compassion for others was unmatched. Kristen loved nothing more than being a mother and a “Kiki” to her grandbabies. She knew how to love and to love big.
Kris was preceded in death by her father, Harold Richard Sorensen, and her dog, Levi. She is survived by her mother, Genee Marietta; her siblings, Craig, Kathy, Karen and Eric; her son, Ryan, his wife, Benita, and their children, Nolan and Barrett; her daughter, Ashley, her husband, Brandon, and their children, Grayson and Paxton; her nieces, Erica, Natalie, Molly, and Isabel; her nephews, Andrew and James; and several cousins. Kristen’s heart for others is part of her legacy, and we believe it would be her wish that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to The Fire Family Foundation (www.firefamilyfoundation.org) or The Marine Raider Foundation (www.marineraiderfoundation.org).
