Kenneth Roger Wilson

Kenneth Roger Wilson, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. Ken was born on July 16, 1943 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Harold and Ruth Wilson. He was a 1961 graduate of Palmer High School in Colorado Springs and went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1961-1967. After completing his military service, Ken began his career with Xerox as a service technician, where he met the love of his life Diane during a service call. The two were married on September 6th, 1969 and welcomed their son Sean a year later.

Ken, affectionately known as “Kenny” by his friends and family, had many passions in life including golf and classic cars but his greatest joy was his grandchildren. Kenny was an avid golfer, hitting the course multiple times a week with his friends and playing in several local tournaments each year. He was also the co-founder of the Littleton Elks Annual Car Show. While the show started small, it blossomed into a renowned event that hosted more than 250 classic cars each year with all proceeds donated to the local Meals on Wheels organization. Although Ken loved his golf and his cars, his grandchildren were his pride and joy. If he wasn’t out watching his granddaughter Kenzie playing softball, he was watching his grandson Blake on the baseball field. His face would light up every chance he had to chat with his grandkids or talk about them with his friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Harold. He is survived by his wife Diane; his son Sean and daughter-in-law Nikki; daughter Kim Hilton and son-in-law Rex; his grandchildren Mackenzie, Blake (who lovingly called him “Papa”) and Vicki Gerth; as well as his sisters Jackie, Patty and Helen. Kenny was known for his patience, kindness and, most of all, his contagious laugh.

Ken will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 and the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Sunday May 26th at Highlands Ranch Golf Club.
