Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Braden

Kenneth Wayne Braden, lovingly known as Ken or Kenny, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 26, 2026.

Ken was born on September 5, 1944, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Son to Opal and Ray Braden.

In April 1965, Ken married Terri, the love of his life. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage, building a life centered around family, love, and commitment. Their bond was especially evident in the way Ken lovingly cared for Terri throughout her 12-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease, a testament to his unwavering devotion and the depth of their love.

Ken proudly served in the United States Army, spending most of his time stationed in Germany. Following his military service, he dedicated nearly 40 years to Southland Corporation, better known as 7-Eleven, before retiring.

Above all else, Ken was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in their lives and accomplishments. To his daughter, he was not only a father but also her best friend. To his son, he was a teacher in the truest sense, showing him especially in his later years what it means to love your family well. He will be remembered for the love he gave, the memories he created, and the lasting impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him.

Ken is survived by his children, Chris and Jennifer; his daughter-in-law, Sandy; his grandchildren, Ray, Taylor, and Brooke; his grandchildren-in-law, Laura Braden and Antonio Roble; and his great-grandchildren, Rory, Ezra, Riley, Nora, and Asher. He is also survived by his siblings Dennis and Chrystal Braden, and his uncle Clyde Gile. Also, lovingly survived by his many nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom he loved and touched deeply.

Ken was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Theresa (Terri) Braden; his parents, Opal and Ray Braden; and his sister, LaVonna Rodriguez.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, Ken’s memory will live on through the family he cherished, the lessons he shared, and the love that will forever remain. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
