Joseph Coleman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe Coleman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and avid sports enthusiast. Joe was born in San Francisco in 1944.

Raised in Berkeley, California, Joe's path led him to the University of Wisconsin, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, and later to Rutgers University, where he obtained his MBA. These educational achievements laid the foundation for a successful career in finance.

During the 1970s, Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army, with a tour of duty in Vietnam.

In 1982, Joe found the love of his life when he married Marianne. Together they formed a bond that would last 41 years, creating a loving family that was at the center of Joe's world. He was a doting father to four sons, showering them with love and support throughout their lives. Joe and Marianne lived in Lafayette for over 45 years and raised their sons there. Joe and Marianne had recently moved to Denver in 2021.

Professionally, Joe excelled as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and later as a Corporate Chief Financial Officer (CFO). While he achieved remarkable success in his career, Joe considered his most important roles to be that of a father and husband.

Beyond his dedication to family and finance, Joe was an enthusiastic sports fan, with undying passion for University of Kansas basketball (where his youngest son, Jonathan, went to school). He was known far and wide as a true superfan, never missing a game and proudly sporting the team's colors. Rock Chalk!

Joe leaves a legacy of love, dedication, and devotion. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marianne, his adoring sons, Jason, Michael, Matt, and Jonathan, and his brother Jon Coleman whom he loved dearly and their families. Joe's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his spirit will forever be remembered through the values he instilled in his family.

A memorial service will be held to honor his life at a later date.
