Obituary

Jayne Cassidy passed away on September 13, 2026 following heart failure at the age of 76. She was born on August 23, 1950 in Mansfield, Ohio.

Jayne graduated from Malabar High School in 1968. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Rutgers University in New Jersey, graduating in 1972.

Jayne had a varied career path in the Denver Metro area. She taught Mathematics and later worked in the IT Department in the Cherry Creek School District. Jayne served as a Project Manager at Burroughs Corporation, Wang Global, Logica Inc. and the City & County of Denver.

Jayne lived a full and adventurous life. In 1969, she attended the Woodstock music festival in Bethel, New York. She still had her ticket! After college, Jayne & her two brothers joined their parents in Japan to live for a period of time. She acquired a love for Japanese culture while there.

Jayne relished events with her numerous friends. Jayne could never have too many friends! She was a proud member of the Railroad Ski Club, the Up the Creek Ski Club and the International Pro Leisure Association. An avid expert skier throughout her adult life, her favorite runs were White Out in Steamboat and Blue Sky in Vail's back bowls. A favorite annual event for Jayne was the Ms. B. Haven camping adventure with the I.P.L.A. group at Lake McConaughy, Nebraska. The annual Labor Day Mother Lode volleyball tournament in Aspen, Colorado was a yearly trip. More recently, Labor Day found Jayne & Rich at White Fish Lake in Minnesota for pontoon boating, jet skiing & sunset cruises.

Jayne enjoyed serving her community. For many years she was a Sponsor for The Foxhunt Gala with proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She also donated her time to the Denver Center for Performing Arts as a volunteer usher.

Jayne loved travel! In 1997 she hiked Mont Blanc in France with a group of friends. Another fun time was had with seven friends sailing & scuba diving in the Caribbean on a catamaran called The Moonshadow. With a Christian church group tour of Greece, Jayne & Rich followed the Footsteps of Paul the Apostle. A visit with special friends in Washington followed by an Alaskan cruise was a favorite recent trip.

Family was important to Jayne. She loved to be with family, especially celebrating big family events and Christmas. She was very close to her parents and two brothers, visiting often. Her mother moved to Colorado to be close to Jayne in which they both found comfort.

Jayne thoroughly enjoyed the social life at her Winter residence in Mesa, Arizona where her fun-loving spirit made her many new friends.

Jayne knew how to live life to the fullest! Her positive energy and big smile drew people to her. Her integrity and sincerity kept them close to her throughout the years. Jayne was a true-blue friend to so many. She will be deeply missed.

Jayne was preceded in death by her father, George Henderson Cassidy; her mother, Kathryn Elaine Wise Cassidy and her brothers, David Cassidy and John Cassidy. She is survived by her fiancé, Richard D. Hollander, her stepdaughter Kathy Denae Den and many loved extended family members.

A Memorial Service will be held for Jayne on Monday, October 12, 2026 at 1pm at Dixon Chapel at Cherry Hills Community Church, 3900 Grace Blvd., Highlands Ranch, CO with a dessert reception to follow
