GRANDCHAMP, Harold Wayne

Harold Wayne Grandchamp, 93, passed away in his home on April 20, 2025.

Born in Blue Island, Illinois, as one of eleven children, Harold served from 1952 through 1954 as Staff Sargent in the Army before embarking on a forty-four year career with United Airlines. After retiring from United, he worked in customer relations for the Rockies at Coors Field for twenty-seven years.

Between 1997 and 2006, Harold worked five seasons in McMurdo Station, Antarctica. His love of fishing saw him traveling many times to Alaska, where several of his children lived.

He was most recently preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Jackie, his youngest son Bruce (sixty), and his oldest grandson Christopher (forty-three).

He is survived by seven of his eight children: Mark (Gwen), Pam Murray (Brian), Steven (Sloane), Brian (Sue), Greg, Paul (Missi), and Sandy (Stan); as well as seventeen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Harold Grandchamp was generous, loving, and good-humored. His adventurousness, resilience, and tenacity served him, and those around him, through his long and amazing life.

Inurnment will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday, April 28, 2025 at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Staging Area B.
