Georgia Thompson (formerly Georgia Glover) was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1949. She resided in California, New York, New Mexico, and Arizona throughout her early years, spent 25+ years in Littleton, Colorado, and the last 10 years in Salem, Oregon until her passing from Alzheimer's on August 11, 2025.
In 2004 Georgia met the love of her life, Bruce, and was married in 2006. They enjoyed 18 years together traveling the world, playing golf, walking on the beach, listening to music, and going to the movies.
Georgia had a strong faith and spent most of her career as a religious director and educator in the Catholic Church (Light of the World and Saint Michael's ). She was actively involved in her faith and spreading the word of the Lord and enjoyed singing in the choir. Georgia was an avid gardener and everywhere she went flowers followed her. She loved to have a seat on a friend's sidewalk and just pick weeds to free the flowers. Her favorite flowers were roses and she always had a fresh cut stem on the counter.
Georgia and Bruce loved to travel and had countless adventures throughout Europe, the Holy Land, Mexico, the US, and many trips to Hawaii. One of the last trips to Iceland was with Bruce and her daughters, Trish and Carrie Glover, where she fell in love with the Blue Lagoon and talked about living there forever.
Georgia loved nature, going to the mountains, and national parks. She has inspired many generations to continue her journey in visiting all 63 of them and reading every single sign in the visitor center. Georgia is survived by her husband, Bruce Thompson and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly including her daughters Trish and Carrie Glover; daughter Caity Mickey; sons Josh, Ben, and Zach Thompson; and grandchildren Calen, Amelia, Julian, Slim, Boots, and Easy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 10675 Jaguar Dr, Lone Tree, CO 80124. Burial will follow at Seven Stones Cemetery.
