Obituary

Gail Sehgal (Lois Gail Sehgal), 85, of Laramie, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2026 in Lone Tree, Colorado.

Gail was born on October 8, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, to Louis and Aurilia Andrzejewski. She graduated from Port Huron with a bachelor's degree in English before moving to Laramie, Wyoming, where she earned a master's degree in Speech Pathology. Later, she completed a second master's degree in Library Science from the University of Denver. She spent many years working at the University of Wyoming's Coe Library, where she enjoyed serving the university community.

While Gail valued learning and took pride in her work, the greatest joy and purpose in her life were always her family and the people she loved. She was happiest when she was spending time with those closest to her, offering a listening ear, sharing stories, and creating a home filled with warmth, kindness, and quiet encouragement.

In 1965, Gail married the love of her life, Shanti Sehgal. Together, they built a life in Laramie and shared 47 wonderful years of marriage, raising their family, and creating countless cherished memories.

Gail found joy in photography, hiking, and listening to music. She will be remembered for her remarkable memory, her ability to truly listen, her gentle kindness, and her wonderfully dry sense of humor. She had a gift for making others feel heard and valued, and her steady, caring presence touched the lives of many.

Gail is survived by her children, Raj Sehgal; Dev Sehgal and his wife, Dianne; and Kiran Lane and her husband, Michael. She also leaves behind her beloved grandsons, Devin Lane, Austin Sehgal, and Nolan Sehgal; and her brother, Ken Afton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Shanti Sehgal.

Gail's love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her friends and family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 27, 2026, at MorningStar at RidgeGate, 10100 Commons Street, Lone Tree, CO 80124,
