Earl “Duane” Eason, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14th at The Gardens at Columbine in Littleton, Colorado.

Duane was born on April 19, 1936 in Abernathy, Texas to Earl and Mary Elizabeth Eason. Raised in Hawthorne, CA he graduated from Leuzinger High School in 1954. Duane attended El Camino Junior College and graduated from Fresno State University in 1959, majoring in accounting. Duane met his wife of 52 years at Fresno State on a blind date. Afterwards, the newlyweds moved back to the Los Angeles area until 1977 when Duane and his family relocated to Colorado.

Duane had a true passion for life. He was known for his determination and hardworking manner. He was quick to smile and had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed time with his family and friends doing various activities such as snow skiing, water skiing, aerobics, running in road races, biking, hiking, traveling, fishing, coin collecting, reading or a competitive game of bridge. He had an accomplished career as a Certified Public Accountant and retired at Kaiser Permanente as Vice President of Finance after 30 years. Duane will be dearly missed by all who knew him and his magnetic personality.

Duane was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; his parents, Earl and Mary Elizabeth, his stepmother, Iris; his father’s wife Dorothy; and his brother Bill. Duane is survived by his brother, Ben; his two children, Dan and Diane; his daughter in law, Diana; his two grandchildren, Ryan and Andrew; his sister in law, Janet; along with a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
