Bradley Bylsma

Bradley Bylsma went to be with his Savior on June 18, 2025 at his home in Littleton, Colorado. His death was unexpected by us all but, in our sorrow, we choose to see this as a precious part of God’s perfect plan.

Brad was born on February 21, 1956 to Gerald and Elsie (Van Iwaarden) Bylsma in Denver, Colorado. Brad grew up in Denver and graduated from Denver Christian High School. He attended Calvin College where he met his lifetime sweetheart Beverly (Steenstra) Bylsma. They were married on May 21, 1977 in Midland Park, New Jersey. Brad and Bev started their family in Michigan and New Jersey and moved to Littleton in 1989.

Brad was a devoted husband and father and spent his free time gardening, singing in the church worship band, and building furniture and home improvements.

In 2014, Brad fulfilled a lifelong goal of purchasing a mountain cabin that he could share with family and friends to bring them together. The house was a true fixer-upper and over the next four years, Brad dedicated countless hours, weekends, and full weeks to constructing a warm and inviting mountain retreat to be shared with others.

Brad lost his wife Bev, in 2018, while she was on a missions trip in Tunisia, an unexpected and heartbreaking loss. He was so proud of her, and he loved her with unbridled enthusiasm. He then lost his mother, Elsie in 2019, and his son Jordan, in 2020. These losses were difficult for the entire family and extra challenging for Brad.

In 2020 Brad retired from 30+ years serving in education as a teacher, principal, and education program administrator. He turned his focus to devoting time to attending his grandchildren’s activities, organizing family and friend weekends at “the cabin”, cross-country trips with family, motorcycle trips with friends, and church Bible Study groups. He was an especially proud grandfather who relished every opportunity to enthusiastically support his grandchildren at their sporting events and performances.

While we mourn Brad’s passing, we also celebrate his joyful reunion in Heaven with Bev and Jordan and those who went before him. Brad was a joyful Christian man with a kind heart. He will be remembered for his loving generosity to others with his time, acts of service, gifts, and encouraging words. His enthusiasm and excitement for life was exhibited in his personal notes full of “Praise the Lord” denotations and numerous exclamation marks!!

Bradley was preceded in death by his wife Beverley, son Jordan, father Gerald, mother Elsie, and sister Jerrilie.

Bradley is survived by his daughter Rachel Hansen and husband Joshua, son Jeremy Bylsma and wife Dana, grandchildren Skyler Bylsma, Jackson Bylsma, Brody Bylsma, Camden Bylsma, Rebekah Hansen, Leah Hansen, Caleb Hansen, Dawnya Bylsma, and Hannah Hansen, brother Geoff Bylsma and wife Cheryl, sister Callae Dykstra and husband Glenn, brother Tim Bylsma and wife Kim.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. Revelation 21:4
