Bonnie Mae Hudson (Harris) passed away peacefully at her home in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, on February 14, 2026, at the age of 71.
She was born on May 19, 1954, at Englewood Hospital in Englewood, New Jersey. Bonnie graduated from Truman High School in Independence, Missouri.
On August 12, 1978, she married the love of her life, Jimmie N. Hudson, in Independence, Missouri. They met while both were working for the Sherwin-Williams Company in the Kansas City area. Bonnie concluded her professional career as the Attendance Secretary at Highlands Ranch High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, where both of her children graduated. However, her greatest joy and most cherished role was being a homemaker and stay-at-home mother.
Bonnie loved to travel and read, faithfully attended her weekly Bible study group, and later in life discovered a talent for watercolor painting, excelling at it as she did with anything she set her mind to. Her most treasured trip was to Israel in November 2022 with Mission Hills Church. During that meaningful journey, Bonnie and Jim were baptized in the Jordan River, reaffirming their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We find comfort in knowing she now has newness of life in His presence.
She is lovingly survived by her husband of 47 years, Jimmie N. Hudson; her son, Matthew N. Hudson (45) and his wife, Kaci (42); her daughter, Kelly M. Bierman (Hudson) (42) and her husband, Matt (46); and her five cherished grandchildren: Callum Hudson (13), Barrett Hudson (6), Koi Bierman (13), Keegan Bierman (10), and Kirra Bierman (6). Bonnie delighted in spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially shopping outings with her daughter and granddaughters. She felt deeply blessed that they all lived nearby in the Denver area, allowing her to share in many joys — skiing, golfing, attending football, soccer, and basketball games, and dance competitions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Thomas and Lois Marie Harris, and her sister, Barbara Jean Harris. She is also survived by her older brother, Chuck Harris; her younger brother, Don Harris; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private graveside ceremony will be held on February 26, 2026, at Seven Stones Chatfield Botanical Gardens Cemetery. A celebration of Bonnie’s life will take place on March 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Mission Hills Church, 620 SouthPark Drive, Littleton, Colorado 80120.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bonnie’s memory to the American Lung Association or Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies. Bonnie dearly loved her Golden Retrievers — Brandy, Maddie, Peach, and Sally Sue. Her favorite place to spend time was at her mountain condo, and later home, in Keystone, where she enjoyed long walks with her dogs and peaceful hours reading her many books.
