Barbara
Stolp
Feb 22, 1951 — Jun 27, 2026
Barbara Stolp, age 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 27, 2026. She was born in Denver, Colorado to Randal and Ruth Colvert. She was a 1968 graduate and salutatorian of Arvada West high school. She attended the University of Northern Colorado, interrupting her education by marrying John Stolp in 1971 and parenting her two sons through high school and into college. Barbara then returned to school graduating from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree. She then started her career with and retired from Medtronic at the Parker Colorado facility where she was the Manager of Quality Control.
While she was proud of her professional accomplishments, Barbara considered her greatest joy to be her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother whose greatest happiness came from caring for those she loved.
Barbara will be remembered most for the way she cared for others. Whether it was comforting family through life’s greatest challenges, or simply expressing her love through a favorite home-cooked meal, Barbara had a remarkable gift for making people feel cared for. Her kindness was quiet but constant, and those who knew her could always count on her to show up with encouragement, compassion, and unwavering love.
Barbara was a member of Littleton United Methodist Church where she was active in the Care team and several church related activities. She was an enthusiastic gardener, transforming her backyard with multiple flower gardens, pathsand features. Barbara belonged to several book clubs, volunteer organizations, loved hiking and genealogy.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Randal and Ruth. She is survived by her husband, John; her two sons, Mike (Jennifer) and Mark (Jessica); her brother, Bob (Carolyn); and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara asked that you simply smile at a stranger or brighten someone’s day whenever you can. She believed the world could always use a little more kindness and a little more love, and she tried to leave both wherever she went.
