Philip E. Spicer

July 1, 1926 — August 25, 2015

Philip Edward Spicer

A much-loved husband, father and grandfather, Philip Edward Spicer, 89,

Denver, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2015 with his family by his

side. He leaves a wife of 58 years, Sue Spicer, his son, Tom Spicer (Debbie)

and two daughters, Terri Schechter (Mark) and Christy Hess (Mark). Phil is

also survived by his grandchildren James, Ben, Steven, Matt, Logan, Sarah,

Greg and five great grandchildren.

Phil was born on July 1, 1926 in Red Oak, Iowa to Virgil and Effie Spicer. Phil

and Sue moved to Longmont, CO after they were married and Phil was hired

as a pilot for United Airlines. Phil retired from United Airlines as a B-727

pilot and enjoyed retirement with Sue and filling his spare time with

watercolor painting, golf, grandchildren and frequent trips to the mountains.

Phil’s wonderful sense of humor and kind spirit will be missed, but we

celebrate the full life that he shared with all of us. A memorial service will

be held at Cherry Hills Community Church Chapel on Friday, September

11, 2015. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Denver Hospice.
