Jack McReynolds

July 31, 1939 - October 1, 2021

Jack McReynolds died on October 1st, 2021 at the age of 82, surrounded by his family. Jack was a man who was known for his generosity, love of southern food, and ability to make people laugh. He was born on July 31st, 1939 in Bristol, TN to Fitzhugh “Lee” and Ida McReynolds and grew up with 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Jack attended East Tennessee State College and went on to a long career holding various roles in the Veterans Administration. As a natural leader, he took on increasing responsibility and served as the Western Area Field Director for the VA Regional Offices at the time of his retirement in 1997. Many of his colleagues there became lifelong friends. Personally, Jack enjoyed sailing, woodworking, reading, cooking breakfast for his family, and making people laugh with his jokes and stories. He relished his role as “Grandpa” and passed on his favorite activities to his grandchildren by teaching them to fish, visiting the airplane museum, building Pinewood Derby cars, going on vacations to warm tropical places, and filling them with his favorite foods. Biscuits and gravy will forever remind these kids of their Grandpa. Jack leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Suzanne McReynolds, his children, Jack Jr, Alison, and Daniel, his grandchildren, Tyler Jackson Tiefenbacher, Elias Ryan Perrier McReynolds, Mia Sydney Tiefenbacher, and Marcus Xavier Perrier McReynolds, and his siblings, Anne Garrett, Mary Moore, Shirley Ketron, and Sandy Kiefer. A funeral will be held at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Parker, CO on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 3:30PM.
