December 15, 1994 - August 6, 2019
Cameron Michael Lucero, 24, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, was sent to the heavens with a flutter of butterflies escorting him on August 6, 2019. Cameron was born on December 15, 1994 in Denver, Colorado and lived in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Cameron is survived by his parents Tammy L. Lucero and Michael R. Lucero, his sister Michelle L. McClure and her husband Gary McClure, brother Lance D. Myers and his wife Danelle Myers and nephew Emerson Ephraim Myers, brother Michael (Tanner) Lucero, uncle Jim Umphryes and cousin Colin Umphryes, aunt and uncle Kenney and Tammie Lucero and cousins, fraternal grandma Benita Guzman, fraternal grandma Carmen Lucero and Chuck Piccone, and many great aunts, uncles and cousins. Cameron was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents Ephraim Jr. and Helen Umphryes, and by his fraternal grandpa Russell Lucero. Cameron was severely disabled since birth, but was one of the coolest kids you would ever want to meet and know. Everyone he came into contact with throughout his 24 years of life was touched by his healing presence. No matter how bad your day was, if you spent just a few minutes with him, your troubles would disappear. Cameron had the most beautiful eyes and long lashes, which he very much spoke through by responding to the sound of your voice and other experiences around him. He was a happy boy whose smile exuded pure, innocent joy, and was simply infectious. Cameron attended Cougar Run Elementary, Rocky Heights Middle School and Rock Canyon High School in Douglas County. One of his favorite events was the Rock Canyon spirit week every September with the parade route being right in front of his home. He loved the marching band, especially when his younger brother Tanner played percussion. Needless to say, it would not be a parade without candy being thrown. When everyone saw him enjoying the band and floats along the curbside, most of the candy was tossed in his direction! Cameron’s time on this earth may have been short, but his memory and legacy lives on forever in the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. He taught us all lessons about life, love, kindness, and happiness, while proving that every day truly is a blessing.
